Current Operations and Capacity
As of late 2024, Phuket Airport is undergoing significant developments to increase its capacity and improve services. The airport currently accommodates around 16 million passengers annually, with plans to expand this capacity to 18 million by 2025. The goal is to increase flight operations from 20 to 25 flights per hour, which would allow for up to 600 flights daily during peak seasons
In the fiscal year ending September 30, 2024, the airport handled 98,711 flights, marking a 20% increase from the previous year. This included 53,378 international flights and 45,333 domestic flights. The number of passengers rose by 21.2%, with about 6.2 million domestic and 9.8 million international travelers
